Lisa’s landscape paintings often depict the dramatic nature of the sky, looking at both urban and rural environments. In capturing these fleeting, striking colours and forms, she hopes to offer up a sense of visual illumination to the viewer and promote a sense of mindfulness and reflection.
The foreground of the works is often pitch dark, to create the greatest contrast against the bright sky. She seeks out scenes that portray a juxtaposition between the natural and the manmade and experiments with texture; colour and other media such as sand. The aim, to bring life, movement and organic fluidity to the surface of the works.
